KCCA FC were held to a 1-1 draw by Kenyan side, Bandari in their opening game at the 2019 CECAFA Kagame Cup.

In the game played on Sunday, substitute Saddam Juma scored the Kasasiro’s goal after Abdallah Hassan had given  Bandari a halftime lead.

After a slow start, Mike Mutebi’s side found themselves trailing inside three minutes as Hassan slotted in from close range.

The Kasasiros thought they had equalized on 26 minutes but Allan Okello’s effort was ruled out for offside.

Okello (25) in action against Bandari on Sunday.

KCCA had another chance to draw level before the break but Muzamir Mutyaba blazed over from close range.

At the start of the second half, Saddam Juma was introduced in place of the ineffective Gift Ali.

Fifteen (15) minutes later, the former Vipers and Express playmaker equalized for KCCA FC.

The other Mutyaba, Mike, shot straight at Bandari custodian Shikhalo in the closing stages of the game.

The result means KCCA FC who are in Group B alongside Bandari, Azam FC and Mukura VS, get their campaign off to a drawing start.

KCCA return to action on Tuesday, June 09, at Huye Stadium against Tanzania’s Azam FC who are the defending champions.
