Uganda vs Somalia (Agg: 3-1)

ENTEBBE – The Uganda Cranes CHAN team returned home in the wee hours of Monday morning.

Abdallah Mubiru’s side was

returning from Djibouti where they defeated Somalia 3-1on Saturday in the first leg of their CHAN 2020 first-round qualifiers.

Goals from KCCA FC duo of Patrick Kaddu and Mustapha Kizza put Abdallah Mubiru’s side on the way before Tadeo Lwanga capped a fine team display with a third late on.

The home side scored a consolation later through Farhan Mohamed Ahmed but it was all they smiled about on a difficult afternoon.

After returning, it was announced that the team would take a one-day break for training, where they will return on Tuesday morning.

The sessions will once again be at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo, the same vennue for the second leg.

The return leg will take place in Uganda on Sunday, 4th July 2019.

The winner on aggregate will qualify to the final stage of the qualifiers and will face the winner between Burundi and South Sudan.

Burundi beat South Sudan 2-0 in Bujumbura over the weekend.
