Angola vs Mali

Tuesday, 02-07-2019 @10pm

Angola and Mali will cancel out each in their final game of group E at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday evening.

Mali only needs a point to progress to the last 16 whereas Angola will have to maximize points to make it to the next round of the competition.

Angola have drawn their two matches at the tournament and were frustrated by debutants Mauritania to a goalless draw in their previous game.

Mali currently top the group with 4 points, they played out to a 1-1 draw with Tunisia in their last fixture.

Angola have failed to win any of their last seven matches at the continental showpiece, four draws and lost three. Their last victory in the competition was in 2012.

Srdjan Vasilijevic’s side has also failed to keep a clean sheer in four of their last six matches at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Mohamed Magassouba’s charges on the other hand have only registered one win from their last five matches, lost two and the other two have also ended in draws. They have also drawn six of their last eight matches at the Africa Cup of Nations.

There have been two previous meetings between the two sides, Mali won 4-0 the first fixture in 2009 before an entertaining 4-4 draw in their 2010 AFCON clash.

Jacinto Gelson Dala alongside Mateus Galiano Da Costa and Djalma Campos are expected to guide Angola to their first win in the competition since 2012.

The Eagles will have their trust in FC Porto striker Moussa Marega, Abdoulay Diaby and Diadie Samassekou.

Mali have the last 16 in their sights and a point will be enough to send them through while victory for the Giant sable antelopes will see them progress.

-Benin vs Cameroon @7pm

-Mauritania vs Tunisia @10pm
