KAGAME – KCCA FC has a day to fully recover ahead of Sunday’s CECAFA cup final following a hard fought 4-3 win after extra time.

The semi finals clash with Green Eagles of Zambia ended all square in 90 minutes; Allan Okello and Amity Shamende each finding the back of the net twice.

The Lugogo side finished stronger and the same spirit was carried into extra time with Okello providing for Mike Mutyaba as the Kasasiros took a 3-2 lead.

As the tournament guest side from Zambia were still searching for answers, teenager Sadat Anaku asked more questions with the fifth goal of the game.

At this moment, it was like a done job but Green Eagles had other ideas as they pulled one back to cut the deficit go a goal to set up a nervous finish.

The Kasasiro boys who had the twelfth player in the stands managed to hold on though at a cost as they lost Jackson Nunda and Peter Magambo to injuries.

Speaking to the press after the match Head coach to KCCA Mike Mutebi said his players believed in them selves and they didn’t panic.

“My players displayed good football and believed in themselves plus they performed well on the pitch” the gaffer said.

KCCA will play the winner between Azam and As Maniema.
