CAIRO – As Uganda Cranes prepare to face Zimbabwe in there next AFCON 2019 game; the head coach Sebastian Desabre and team captain Denis Onyango addressed the media at Cairo international stadium, on Tuesday.

The game against Zimbabwe will be Uganda’s second game at this year’s AFCON having won the opening match 2-0 against DR Congo on Saturday.

Kaddu Patrick and Emmanuel Okwi were the history markers on the day after giving Uganda a first AFCON win since 1978.

Ahead of Wednesday’s game, skipper Denis Onyango said even though Zimbabwe is a good team the Cranes need three points to book a place in the round of 16, so they have the do their best to collect maximum points.

“We need the three points against Zimbabwe though they are a good team but we are ready to give in our best to collect the maximum points so as to book a place in the round of 16” Onyango said

He also believes that since he plays with most of them Zimbabwe players in the South African League and he knows 90% of their way of play, he will share notes with his team (Cranes) on how to tame them.

“I know 90 % of the Zimbabwe players because they feature in the PSL like me, therefore I will share with the team on how to tame them” Onyango added

Away from the team captain,  the head Coach has called upon his team to forget about the first game and put their focus on Zimbabwe because it is an important match if there to go past group stages.

“We have to forget about the first game and focus on the next game against Zimbabwe because of it important in our plan to go past the group stages” Says Desabre.

Desabre wants the Cranes to shift focus onto Zimbabwe.

The gaffer also added that they were not perfect even though they won the first game, so the team has to correct its mistakes ahead of Zimbabwe clash.
