Wadada, Okwi join Uganda Cranes Camp

International Build-up matches

-Sunday, 09-06-2019 – Uganda vs Turkmenistan 10pm (Played behind Closed doors) at New York University in Abu Dhabi

-Saturday, 15-09-2019 – Uganda vs Ivory Coast (Open to public) –Venue to be communicated

ABU DHABI – Tanzanian-based duo of Nico Wakiro Wadada and Emmanuel Okwi are the latest players to join the Uganda Cranes Camp in Abu Dhabi.

Wadada and Okwi who feature for Azam FC and Simba SC respectively, bring the number of players currently in camp, to 24.

Robert Ondongokara and Charles Lukwago are expected to join later. For Mike Azira and Ronald Mukiibi, they are understood to be setting foot in Abu Dhabi in the next few days.

In total, 28 players were summoned by head coach Sebastien Desabre and will be trimmed to the final 23 before the mandatory 10 days prior to kick off of the 2019 AFCON finals in Egypt.

The technical team is thus taking a critical eye on each of the players in camp with kin observation to be taken during the two international friendly matches against Turkmenistan and Ivory Coast on 9th and 15th June respectively.

The Cranes will play two build-up games before AFCON.

Uganda Cranes is pooled in group A alongside the hosts Egypt, Democratic Republic of Congo and Zimbabwe.

The 22 players currently camped in Abu Dhabi

Denis Onyango, Hassan Wasswa Mawanda, Joseph Ochaya, Timothy Awanyi, Godfrey Walusimbi, Patrick Kaddu, Bevis Mugabi, Isaac Muleme, Khalid Aucho, Tadeo Lwanga, Allan Kyambadde, Saddam Juma, Moses Waiswa and Murushid Jjuuko, Derrick Nsibambi, Kirizestom Ntambi, Farouk Miya, Kizito Luwaga, Salim Jamal, Alexis Bbakka, Abdu Lumala, Allan kateregga, Nicholas Wadada, Emmanuel Okwi.
