The FUFA Drum second edition is getting more exciting by the day and it may in the end, prove to be the most thrilling since the tournament inception last year.

After Busoga subjected star-studded Kampala to their third loss of the campaign on Saturday, there were two big shocks the following day.

In Group C, last year’s finalists West Nile were subjected to a second loss of the Group stages.

Umar Abdallah Loi’s side who lost 1-2 to Bunyoro on opening weekend, were humbled 2-0 at home to Acholi at the Green Light Stadium in Arua.

Vipers SC forward Tito Okello put the visitors ahead on 44 minutes with his strike coming against the run of play as it was West Nile who had dominated much of the opening half.

Hudu Mulikyu added a second 10 minutes into the second half and in the end, the 2-0 deficit proved too much for the home side.

The loss means West Nile remain on 3 points in the Group and are now second from bottom after three games. Their only win so far, came on Match-Day 2 when they defeated Karamoja 1-0 away from home.

For Acholi, they maintain their 100% record having won all three of their first three games.

The other Group C game saw Bunyoro and Karamoja play out a 1-1 draw at the Boma Grounds in Hoima.

Karamoja took a first half lead through Ivan Pulkol but Peter Lomoro’s strike in the second half ensured the contest ends all square.

Bunyoro are now second in the group with 4 points will Karamoja are still bottom having gathered only a single point from their first three games.

In Group B, Buganda suffered their first loss of the campaign as they went down 1-0 at home to Ankole at the Ssaza Grounds in Mukono.

Seiri Aligumaho scored the only goal of the match 20 minutes from time.

The loss sees Buganda drop into second on the log with six points, level with Lango but with the later having a better goal difference having humiliated Sebei 6-1 on Saturday.

Buganda drop into second on the Group C standings.

For Ankole, they are now third with six points but have an inferior goal difference as compared to both Buganda and Lango.

In Group D, Bukedi cemented their leader’s status following a 1-1 draw with Bugisu at the Boma Grounds in Butaleja.

With both goals coming in the first half, Edger Bwogi handed the visitors the lead on 11 minutes before Isaac Kisujju leveled matters a minute before the break.

Neither side could find the winner in the second half meaning the Bukedi remain unbeaten in the Group and now have 7 points having won two and drawn one of their opening three games.

For Bugisu, they also remain second on the standings with 5 points, having won once and drawn twice so far.

In the other Group D game played on Sunday, Teso ensured they move second on the log as they defeated Kigezi 2-0 at the Kongunga Stadium.

KCCA FC’s Solomon Okwalinga opened the scoring for the home side before Isaac Ogwang added a second to seal their first win of the campaign.

Having initially lost to Bukedia and drawn with Bugisu, Teso now have four points from their opening three games. For Kigezi, they are bottom of Group D having managed only a single point so far.
