Proline FC were held to a goalless draw away to Kiboga Young in one of the three Rwenzori Group matches played in the FUFA Big League 2018/19 on Friday.

In the game played at the Busumate playgrounds, either side dominated play on different occasions but could not find the break through.

Proline had the best chances in the game but their attacking trio led by League top scorer Ivan Bogere, could not bleach the Kiboga defence.

As the game grew old, either side looked contented with a point on the day, as they resorted to retaining possession without committing numbers forward.

Proline goalkeeper Hassan Matovu who was rarely called into action, thwarted a Brian Mugume intended lobed shot, 10 minutes into the half.

Matovu was again alert to parry away Duncan Ssemakula’s long ball out of defence, denying Peter Lumolo in a keeper to beat situation.

Despite the draw, Proline remains top of the Rwenzori group with 38 points, one ahead of second placed Kansai Plascon.

Proline now hold a one point lead at the top of the Rwenzori Group.

Meanwhile in the other Rwenzori Group games played on Thursday, Kabale Sharp defeated already relegated-Ntinda United 2-0 at the Kabale Municipal Stadium.

Dickson Nuwamanya and Bosco netted the goals for Vialli Bainomugisha’s coached side.

In Bundibugyo, Bumate United who were coming off a 9-0 drubbing at the hands of Proline, drew 2-2 with promotion chasing Dove FC.

Bumate who are already relegated, had a player sent off during the encounter.

In the Elgon group, Kyetume and Dove All Stars, missed the opportunity to close in on leaders Wakiso Giants, as they drew 1-1 at the Green Light Stadium in Arua.

Former Uganda Cranes striker Robert Ssentongo put Kyetume ahead in the 53rd minute.

Moses Aliro ensured the two sides would in the end share spoils as he drew the home sides level with just 7 minutes to play.

The result means that, Kyetume stay second on the log with 32 points, 5 adrift of Wakiso with two games to play.

For Dove All Stars, they are 3rd, a point behind Kyetume.

In Lira at the PTC play-ground, JMC Hippos won 2-1 away over Amuka Bright Stars.

At the end of the season, three clubs shall be promoted to the Uganda Premier League at the end of the season.

The top club per group (Rwenzori and Elgon) will make it directly while the third club is always determined via a promotional play off.
