There will be a battle for top when the Futsal Super League resume on Thursday evening.

Park were leading the pack until last week when they were displaced by Parakeets but will have a chance to retain top spot with victory on Match day 12 provided the leaders fail to win their day’s fixture.

However, it will not come easy as they face a spirited Dream side that is fresh off a 4-1 win over Aidenal last week.

“We are defending champions and we want all three points to improve our chances of retaining the title. Said Dream vice-captain John Kitanda ahead of the game.

“They (Park) have been performing well this season but we are not scared of them.

“We know the quality we pose and we will try to exploit it so as we take all three points.

Park’s last engagement had them draw 2-2 with Crown, in a game that saw Given Mubiru receive a red card.

They will look to Captain Iddi Babu for inspiration, having scored both of their goals two weeks ago.

Dream is currently in 6th on the log with 15 points, five behind second placed Park who trail Parakeets by only 2.

For Parakeets who are leading the chat with 22 points from nine games, they will come up against seventh placed Nomad in a headline fixture.

Parakeets will look to replicate their recent performance which saw them humiliate Yap Stars, 6-0 to record their seventh win of the campaign.

Nomad on the other hand will seek to bounce back after falling 3-2 to Equator last week. Nomad are seventh on the log, eight points below leaders Parakeets while their opponents (Equator) are 9th.

The contest between Kabowa United and Elephants will be one to watch out for as it pits the two bottom sides. Rock bottom side Elephants, four points from nine games, are just a point below Kabowa United.

Third placed Yeak Kabowa who are also eyeing top spot as they star the day two points off top spot, will take on 9th placed Equator.

In the other contest of the day, Yap Stars will be seeking redemption when they face Bajim in one of the opening games of the evening.
