Police have now gone three matches unbeaten

StarTimes Uganda Premier League
Police FC 2-2 Maroons
StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo
Sunday, 04-11-2018

LUGOGO – Solomon Walusimbi scored in the third minute of added time to help his Maroons draw 2-2 away to Police FC at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo.

In the only StarTimes Uganda Premier League game played on Sunday, Police who came into the game having won their last two looked the better side in the opening exchanges but could not find an early goal.

The Cops who have scored in every game they have played in this season finally broke the deadlock a minute after the half hour mark when Juma Balunya converted neatly past Ashadu Bugembe in Maroons goal.

Abdallah Mubiru’s side pushed for a second before half time but could not get it and referee Muzamir Waiswa sent both teams back into the dressing room for the mandatory break.

With 14 minutes played in the second half, Maroons pulled level through Rashid Agau.

However, they could not sustain level terms as Balunya scored the second for Police 10 minutes later.

In an all out attacking approach, George Best Nsimbe sent on striker Solomon Walusimbi who would later break the Cop’s hearts in the third minute of additional time with a goal that would see both sides share the spoils.

Police have now gone three matches unbeaten after losing all their first three in the season.

The point earned on Sunday elevates Mubiru’s side into 9th on the table with seven points from six games.

For Maroons, they remain rooted at the foot of the table with two points from six matches.

Police’s next fixture sees them host Tooro United on Wednesday while Maroons are also at home to Onduparaka in Luzira.
