LUGOGO – KCCA FC produced arguably their finest performance of the season as they thumped Nyamityobora FC 6-1 at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo on Sunday.

A brace by Mike Mutyaba and one each from Allan Okello, Timothy Awanyi, Patrick Kaddu and Jackson Nunda did the magic on a day that Mike Mutebi’s side retained command of the league.

Nyamityobora’s only positive on the day was Dada Juma’s consolation goal towards the end of the game.

Despite having most of their senior players just returning from National duty, the Kasasiro Boys took an early lead inside four minutes through Patrick Kaddu who nodded in past Jomi Hillary in the visitors goal.

With the early goal settling the home side, they dominated possession and were rewarded with a second on 21 minutes when Captain Timothy Awanyi converted from the spot after Allan Okello was fouled inside the area.

Two became three with five minutes of the first half to play as Allan Okello slotted in neatly past a helpless Jomi.

Referee William Oloya sent the teams back into the changing rooms for their mandatory break with KCCA showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Mutebi’s side’s domination of proceeding continued from the onset of the last 45 minutes and it was just a matter of time until a fourth came.

On 53 minutes, Mutebi sent on Mike Mutyaba in place of the tired looking Allan Kyambadde and what a stroke of genius it would later prove.

Nine minutes, Mutyaba scored his first goal of the season to make it 4-0 to KCCA.

With 22 minutes to play, Dada Juma reduced the deficit to three, scoring Nyamityobora’s consolation.

The goal conceded only wakes up KCCA as they went in search of a fifth which eventually came on 70 minutes through Mutyaba who doubled his day’s tally.

With a minute of regulation time to play, Jackson Nunda completed the demolition with a sixth and his first of the season.

The three points gained elevate KCCA to the top of the league, level on points (18) with Vipers but with a superior goal difference.

For Nyamityobora, they slip into 15th with four points from their first 8 games.

League action resumes on Friday with a double header. Police FC host Mbarara City at the StarTimes Stadium while Nyamityobora entertain coachless-SC villa at Wankulukuku.

KCCA’s next engagement sees them travel to Luzira to take on troubled Maroons.
