LUGOGO – KCCA FC defeated Nyamityobora to win their maiden Philip Omondi Invitational Tournament on Saturday evening.

The Kasasiro Boys overcame the Uganda Premier League new comers 2-1 on day two of the competition to win a title that had eluded them for the first two years.

Allan Kyambadde and Sadat Anaku were on target for Mike Mutebi’s men before Nyamityobora pulled one back through Joseph Akwandanaho late on.

Earlier on in the afternoon, Wakiso Giants had ended Proline’s hopes of a third consecutive title as the Big league side won their contest 1-0.

Wakiso’s goal was scored by the industrious Ernest Luboobi Daff.

With KCCA winning 2-0 on match day one against Wakiso, they (KCCA) finished top of the four team standings with 10 points.

Proline, 1-0 winners over Nyamityobora on Friday, as well as Wakiso Giants finished on four points while Nyamityobora (one) ended the tournament in last position.

KCCA FC walked home with a trophy and prize money worth Ugx. One million.

Patrick Kaddu and Timothy Awany won individual awards as the Top Scorer and Most Valuable Player respectively.

This was the third edition of the tournament.

Proline won the first and second editions.
