WAKISO – Former Uganda Cranes and Sports Club Villa midfielder, Steven Bengo has signed a one year deal with free spending Big League side, Wakiso Giants.

The transfer fee for which he joins Wakiso Ginats has not been disclosed to the media because of confidentiality clauses embedded in the employment contract.

The midfielder who also played at KCCA, Express, Soana , Tanzanian Club Yanga and Kenya’s Nakumat FC has become the latest signing  of the new club and joins other players including goal keepers Mansoor Mutumba and Cleo Ssetubba, left winger James Kasibante, midfielders Hassan Wasswa Dazo, Isaac Ntege, Abdul-Karim Kasule and striker Eddie Mubiru.

Earlier this year Bengo nearly returned to KCCA for the second time but he failed the medical and has since been a free agent.

He has been training with Soana FC after the failed move in an effort to keep in shape.

Speaking to PML Daily, the club’s head coach Ibrahim Kirya said that Bengo’s talent deserves to be given another chance despite spending sometime without playing time.

“Bengo hasn’t been playing previously but i will give him enough playing time, said Kirya.

“He is a talented lad who deserves another shot at the game.

Wakiso Giants, who will compete in the second tier of Ugandan football after buying-off Kamuli Park FC for Shs100 Million, is going to start their pre-season training on the 23rd this month at the Old Kampala Primary School playgrounds in Kampala.

Wakiso Giants will however host their home matches at Wakiso Resource center playing field.

The club head offices are located at Najjanakumbi, along Entebbe road.
