Soana Football Club director Smart Obed has on Wednesday morning confirmed that he has terminated the services of the team’s technical wing with immediate effect.

Alex Isabirye has been at soana for just under five months

Head coach Alex Isabirye and his assistant Katono Mutono where ordered to step aside until further notice.

Obed, a self-styled businessman informed PML Daily about the development in an exclusive interview;

“The results have not been the best for the club and we have to seek quick answers before the situation gets out of hand, said Obed.

“We have three games to save our season so as we don’t get relegated.

The sacking of the coaches followed the 1-0 loss away to Police FC at Mandela National stadium, Namboole on Tuesday in a game Police scored through Ruben Kimera.

A crestfallen Isabirye when talking to PML Daily about the sad tale acknowledged the desired results had not come their way but the boss has the best answer to the results gone sour.

“It is unfortunate that the results have not been the best and we have to depart but the club director has the best answer and he is aware,” said Isabirye.

Isabirye was first at Soana as head coach in the 2016/17 season.

At the end of that season, he did not continue with the employment as he briefly left for Masavu (one week) before he settled at Mbarara based Big League side, Nyamityobora.

Ironically, at the end of the first round in December 2017, he returned to Soana to work with Mutono.

Goalkeeping coach Abu Kigenyi remains and will handle the club on interim basis until a new coach is recruited in the coming days.
