Paidha Black Angels and Kitara FC will face off on Sunday at the StarTimes stadium for a spot in next season’s Uganda Premier League.
The two Big league sides were victorious in their respective semifinal match ups at the same venue on Thursday afternoon.
Paidha were the first to seal their finals’ berth with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Kabale based Kabale Sharp.
Former top flight striker Yudah Mugalu, Cromwell Rwothomio and Yusuf Ssozi scored for the Allan Kabonge coached side.
Mugalu openned the scoring with a superb header off a Yusuf Nsubuga’s inch perfect cross in the 38th minute.
Cromwell tapped home the second from close range, barely three minutes into the second half to extend Paidha’s lead.
19 minutes to the end of the game, Ssozi made sure of the Angels’ advancement to the final with a fierce shot and thus sealing a 3-0 victory.
In the Other game played, Hoima based side Kitara FC did it the hard way as they required spot kicks to eliminate Kyetume 3-1 after drawing 1-1 in normal time.
Kyetume skipper Sharif Ssaka tapped home in an empty net on the stroke of half time to give Livingstone Mbabazi’s side the lead.
Former Express midfielder Derrick Tekkwo scored Kitara’s equalizer with a powerful header off a corner by Dennis Monday on the 75th minutes and both sides failed to find the winner, requiring spot kicks to separate them.
During the tense penalty shoot outs, Samuel Adibo, Denis Monday and Roger Lukwiya scored their kicks for Kitara as Derrick Tekkwo had missed his opening kick.
Kyetume managed one goal from Charles Musoke. Richard Matovu hit the post, Sharif Ssaaka blast over the bar and former URA left winger Elukana Nkugwa also hit the post.
The Final will be played on Sunday between Paidah and Kitara, for the two losing semifinalist, they will have to make another attempt next season.
On the same day, Elgon and Rwenzori group winners Ndejje and Nyamityobora respectively will tussle it out to decide the 2017/18 FUFA Big League winner.
