Gambling company BetWay which has become ever present in the development of sports in the country is at it again, this time they have shifted their attention to the game of Ludo through their(Ludo) finals.
With the Ludo Gala Grand finals slated for Sunday 15th-04-2017, BetWay has come out and offered several prizes in a bid to see the event pick up more excitement and competition.
The prizes include cash for the winners and runners ups and several material items including Ludo boards.
Speaking at the event held at one of their out lets on Market Street, BetWay PRO, Clive Kyazze expressed their(BetWay) delight to be working with the Ludo fraternity.
“We are happy and so excited that we are working with the Ludo Federation in a bid to grow the game.
“Ludo may not be among the top sports in the country but one of our aims in to grow several sporting disciplines to the heights that the country can be proud of and they are one of them(disciplines).
“Hopefully we can achieve all our desired goals on Sunday and work with Ludo for a longer period of time as we help them grow with time.
Sixteen teams from four divisions of Kampala including Nakawa, Makindye, Rubaga and Kawempe, qualified for the finals from the preliminary round of the BetWay Ludo Gala held last November.
All the semi finalists from the four divisions qualified for the Grand Finals where the overall winner will walk away with a trophy and 500,000shs, the first runner-up will pocket 300,000shs while the third best team will bag 200,000shs.
While this highly contested event is sure to be a real thriller, BetWay and Uganda Ludo Federation through their partnership have already seen an increased competitiveness in the league, better recognition of the best players and also an improved image of the Federation.
The Qualified teams include:
Silver Sport A, Silver Sport B, Twegate, Basajja Suubi, Forbel, Madrid, Kevina, Katwe Youth, Natete Market, Natete Co-operative, Kilombe A, Kazo hill, Goodlyfe, Kajumba, Y2K and All Stars.
