FOOTBALL–Uganda Cranes head coach Moses Basena has announced his World Cup qualifiers squad for Egypt double header with his predecessor’s outcast Willian Luwagga Kizito the notable inclusion.
Basena announced the team of 27 players that he plans to use in the two games giving Luwagga the opportunity to set himself back on the pedestal after the forward uncharacteristically fell out with then coach Milutin Micho Sredejovic during the Africa Cup of Nations tournament and vowed never to play for Cranes again under the Serbian.
Basena and his assistant Fred Kajoba were assistants to Micho during the tournament in Gabon in January but it appears they recognise the player’s worth and have ended his seven-month exile from national team duty.
The other surprise inclusion is former KCCA anchorman Ivan Ntege, who is currently playing in the Botswana top tier for Township Rollers. Ntege last featured for the Cranes at the CHAN 2016 tournament in Rwanda and pintsized midfielder was almost becoming the ‘forgotten man.’
The other players summoned include.
