The NGO, initiated on April 17, 2019, will be headquartered in the heart of Kagadi District, with its roots firmly planted in Kyenzige Village.
Milly Nassolo, a 25-year-old lawyer, discovered her calling during an eye-opening experience in Kagadi District. Confronted with the harsh reality of women succumbing to preventable issues due to the scarcity of basic healthcare items, Nassolo was moved to take action. Her journey led to the establishment of the Maisha Holistic Africa Foundation, an initiative designed to uplift women from poverty and address the multifaceted needs of the community.
The launch event took place in Kyenzige Village, underscoring the foundation’s commitment to directly engaging with the community it seeks to serve. The ceremony marked the beginning of a transformative chapter for Kagadi District, as Milly Nassolo, the visionary founder, shared her mission to make a lasting impact on the lives of women, children, and youth in the region.
The Maisha Holistic Africa Foundation is rooted in a holistic approach, aiming to enhance the health, social, economic, and spiritual well-being of the community. Nassolo, alongside her husband Robert Kikomeko, initially directed efforts towards educational support, paying school fees for 15 orphaned children. The foundation has since evolved into a comprehensive entity, providing not only education but also training on farming practices, support for justice-seeking individuals, and initiatives promoting women’s empowerment.
Among the notable projects of the foundation is the provision of “maama kits” to 412 women in Kyenzige village, addressing critical healthcare needs. Nassolo’s vision extends to establishing a vocational secondary school, a health facility, a medical institute, and a factory producing essential items for girls in Kagadi District.
The launch event was a testament to Milly Nassolo’s dedication to social change, as community members, well-wishers, and local leaders gathered to witness the initiation of a foundation that aspires to be a catalyst for positive transformation in Kagadi District.
As the Maisha Holistic Africa Foundation embarks on its journey, Milly Nassolo remains committed to the cause, generating internal funds and garnering support from well-wishers to sustain the impactful initiatives that will shape the future of Kagadi District. The foundation’s launch marks a significant milestone, promising hope, empowerment, and holistic well-being for the community it serves.
