The fuel tanker in flames at Kasunganyanja town

KASESE – Four people died, around mid-day on Friday, following a fuel truck accident at Kasunganyanja trading centre along the Fort Portal – Kasese highway.

The Kasunganyanja, Kibiito Sub County, Bunyangabu district, followed a collision involving a fuel truck that was heading to Kasese and an Isuzu Canter carrying foodstuff and heading in the opposite direction, according to the Rwenzori West Police Spokesperson, Vincent Twesige.

Eye witnesses claim that both vehicles exploded following the collision after the driver of the fuel truck lost control, smashing the Canter – leading to the death of four people whose remains were burn’t beyond quick recognition.

Twesige – the Police Spokesperson of the area, reveals that they were yet to establish if the bodies of the dead were occupants of the vehicles involved in the accident.
