WAKISO – Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire has said police has started investigations into the murder of one person and injuring of another during an aggravated robbery in Garuga katabi Town council Wakiso district that occurred on Friday night.

Mr Owoyesigire said investigations into the incidence in which an unknown assailant shot dead Isaac Sebiina, a boda boda cyclist and injured Mr Bill Joseph kasongode whom he was carrying together with the wife Ms Irene Namajje as they returned back home from their supermarket are under way.

“Police in Entebbe are actively investigating an aggravated robbery and murder of a boda boda cyclist Isaac Sebiina that happened on Thursday at around 8pm. It’s alleged that while Irene Namajje and husband Bill Joseph kasongode were heading home and had been picked by Sebiina were stopped by an armed assailant who demanded for Namajje’s bag which contained Shs 200,000, the two men on the motorcycle decided to resist which prompted the assailant to release bullets which injured Joseph kasongode and killed Isaac Sebiina

Owesyesigire said Namajje told police that the unidentified assailant has robbed her before but she never reported the incident to police.

“It’s from there that we are relying on that specific information to trace for the assailant and have him arrested and also recover the gun that was used in this heinous act,” he said.

He added that the deceased Sebiina’s body was taken to city mortuary Mulago for postmortem as police awaits to receive reports to ascertain whether kasongode’s injuries who is admitted at Kisubi hospital receiving treatment were bullets wounds or not.
