KABALE – Police in Kabale district is holding a 20-year-old man for allegedly murdering his own brother.

The suspect has been identified as Peter Agaba, a resident of Omurutojo village in Katokye parish Kyanamira Sub County in Kabale district.

The suspect is accused for strangling his own brother. The deceased has been identified as Julius Atuheire, a resident of the same area.

The awful incident occurred on July 14, 2019, at around 9:30 pm at Omurutojo village in Katokye parish Kyanamira Sub County in Kabale district.

The Kabale district police Commander Brian Ampeire says that the suspect took off after strangling his brother until Monday, July 15, 2019, when he was arrested from his area of residence after a tip from the local residents.

“Agaba and the deceased have been fighting for a long time over issues that are yet to be known,” Mr Ampaire narrated.

Mr Ampeire has confirmed that Agaba is currently detained at Kabale Central Police Station as investigations into the matter continue.

Ampeire asked the public to always visit relevant offices when they have misunderstanding instead of taking the law into their own hands.

Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson has urged the public to work hand in hand with the police to ensure that all criminals are phased out.
