KAMPALA – Police at Central Police Station, Kampala on Thursday, May 9, arrested a suspected notorious car robber who was in a move to steal a motor vehicle reg. No. UAW 317R.
Mr. Tumwesigye Gordon 37, a resident of Kawempe division, Kampala district was arrested at Constitutional Square in Kampala.
“He was arrested while trying to steal a motor vehicle that was parked at the Constitution Square,” said police in a statement.
Police revealed that with the help of the latest installed CCTV cameras, they were able to capture Mr. Tumwesigye who came on a boda-boda and later attempted to open the car that parked aside.
“CPS CCTV command centre monitored him coming boarding a boda-boda motorcycle and they started monitoring him.”
“He was later sighted trying to open cars and officers on the ground were alerted,” added police.
Police say that the suspect later admitted to being a notorious car thief and that revealed he normally takes them to DR. Congo.
