Police identify 3 victims in Nansana shooting

Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed the death of three innocent men after being attacked by robbers at Cheap Hardware in Nansana. (FILE PHOTO)

WAKISO – Kampala metropolitan police has on Wednesday 29 confirmed the victims of the shooting which took place this afternoon at Cheap Hardware in Nansana, Wakiso district.

Patrick Onyango, the Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson, in a press release, noted that the dead are, “Jimmy Atuhuru who has been the assistant manager of the hardware and another who was identified as Aruho Frank.”

According to reports, the robbers put workers on gunpoint before robbing unspecified amount of money and shooting these people dead.

SP Onyango noted that “Two other men were injured and rushed to Mulago Referral Hospital for treatment.”

He added the attack was conducted by six masked robbers who were riding on unspecified motorcycles.

Three of them, he said, were armed with AK47 rifles.

“They attacked the hardware at the time when the cashiers were about to take money to the bank,” he noted.

SP Onyango said investigators are on the ground.
