Five arrested over murder charges

KABALE– Police in Kabale has in custody four men and a woman for allegedly killing Jack Buturoha, a 72-year-old man in Kabale.

Among the arrested are the Buturoha’s wife Joy Akampurira and his son Manzi Brave.

Others include; Richard Kuribakanya, Robert Mwesigwa and Edison Turyakira.

According to police, Buturoha, a resident of Rugarama II village in Maziba sub-county, was murdered on Sunday night about 300 meters away from his home.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi regional police spokesman said the body of the deceased was on Monday morning found in a pool of blood, with a sharp object stuck in his neck and cuts on the head.

He says, Police was alerted by Akampurira 49, a wife to the deceased who was held to help the Police in investigations.

Maate said that the couple had had longstanding misunderstandings, through which they suspect wife (Akampurira) having a hand in murdering of husband.

Police reports reveal that the day before the murder, the couple was together in a bar at Ahambungo Trading Centre, but upon interrogation Akampurira could not properly account for how they separated and where she spent the night.

The five are currently help at Kabale police station to face murder charges.

Many related domestic cases have relatively increased.

On Sunday, police in Mukono district arrested a woman for allegedly hacking off her husband’s genitals with a knife after discovering his affairs.

Rehema Kabayana 24, told police she waited until her husband Anthony Sekawa 28, had fallen asleep then cut off his organ with the 4-inch knife for having an affair with many different women.
