KAJJANSI– Henry Kanywamusayi one of the pillars of Balamogi in Kampala born in Buyuge, Gadumire Sub-county in Kaliro District has been murdered.
Kanywamusayi was murdered together with son Emma when thugs attacked them at their home in Kajjansi Town Council, off Entebbe Road.
Frederick Karamagi, a neighbour who drove the two to Nsambya Hospital at 2:00 p.m. said the killers may have used knives, hoes and pavers to end the lives.
“Emma died before we reached hospital, in fact we are not sure he was alive when we left home,” said Karamagi, adding, “Henry looked like he was recovering, then he deteriorated and he too was gone.’’
Karamagi said that medics at Nsambya Hospital had advised that Kanywamusayi be taken to Mulago Hospital’s ICU but as they were organising an ambulance he too died.
When contacted for a comment, Police spokesperson Emilian Kayima said he was yet to receive information about the incident although murder has become rampant in the city in the recent past.
Addressing the nation on Sunday, President Museveni said he would invest more in intelligence gathering, installation of security surveillance cameras and deployment of more local defence units to combat urban crime.
Emma was a student of Namilyango High School.
Kanywamusayi was a staunch promoter of the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC), he studied Computer Science at Makerere University, and once served as a functional consultant at Huawei Technologies.
“Henry will be dearly missed dearly. It is a profound shock. Henry was a pillar of Balamogi in Kampala. Anybody who would kill a man like that does not even deserve hell … That would be far too kind,” Paul Kalikwani, a friend to Kanywamusayi said.
