JINJA – The Kyabazinga of Busoga, William Wilberforce Nadiope Gabula IV, has announced that Jovia Mutesi is his wife and queen.

The official announcement was made by the Busoga premier Dr Joseph Muvawala on Thursday, 07 September 2023, who also said a traditional ceremony was done earlier in the day.

“It’s a momentous day for the people of Busoga all over the world as I officially announce that we have got Her Royal Highness the Inhebantu of Busoga following the just concluded traditional ceremonies earlier in the day that were successfully held,” Dr Muvawala, who is also the Executive Director of National Planning Authority, said.

He said the wedding is scheduled for Saturday 18th November 2023.

“With the traditional ceremonies now out of the way, arrangements are underway for the Isebantu to present his dear wife to Christ Cathedral Bugembe on Saturday 18th November 2023 for the celebration of Holy Matrimony and also unveil the Inhebantu to the people of Busoga and the world at large,” he said.

The kingdom prime minister described the development as a great and memorable one for the kingdom.

“On behalf of the people of Busoga, and the surrounding areas and on my own behalf, I wish to congratulate the Kyabazinga and the Inhebantu upon this great and memorable decision of having a family which is synonymous with our Kisoga culture. This is a true reflection of how cultured our King and the Queen are,” he said.

“I am satisfied that Busoga’s missing link has finally been found and I can confirm with certainty that more blessings await ahead for parents on both sides for the  ministry of raising the children. I also want to appreciate the team that worked behind the scenes to deliver as required including the entourage that I moved with. For this, be blessed tenfold,” he added.

I appeal to the Basoga all over the world to keep both the Isebantu and the Inhebantu into your daily prayers for God/Allah to bless this new union that Busoga has been longing for and above all, to continue superintending over our institution, he said.

The news attracted hearty congratulations from various sections of society, with Speaker of Parliament Anita Among leading the way.

“I am delighted to convey hearty Congratulations to the Isebantu, His Royal Highness William Gabula Nadiope IV upon finding a suitable Inebantu and Mother to the Kingdom of Busoga, Her Royal Highness Jovia Mutesi. I congratulate you our King, and the great people of Busoga upon this development. I pledge to continue supporting the Royal family and the Kingdom in pushing the Busoga development agenda,” she said.
