9 arrested over noise pollution

WAKISO – Police in Kiira division have 9 suspects in custody who were arrested for noise pollution in Kireka Bweyogerere in Kira Municipality.

Police say that on Sunday, at around midnight, concerned residents reported a number of bars that were playing loud music, making it uncomfortable for residents in Kireka Bweyogerere to sleep.

“A Joint Task Team from Kira division and Bweyogerere, carried out a counter operation and arrested 9 suspects from the 3 bars, of Sam, Obed and Simon. They included; Byarugaba Peter, Akandunda Brenda, Tumuheki Deus, Kansime Osbert, Kashanya James, Andabati James, Pandi Ramathan, Atiku Simon and Obita Robert. Several exhibits and speakers were recovered,” said Enanga Fred – Police Spokesperson.
