Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda (CCBU), a leading beverage company in Uganda extended support to the annual Uganda Martyrs Day celebrations with a donation of over 100 cartons of water and beverages to traffic officers stationed on the different routes to Namugongo Martyrs Shrine.
Uganda Martyrs Day is an esteemed religious event attended by thousands of pilgrims on June 3rd every year. The day commemorates the martyrdom of 45 faithful Anglican and Catholic converts to Christianity who were brutally executed.
CCBU’s support ensured that hardworking traffic police officers stationed on the different routes of Namugongo were adequately refreshed and hydrated throughout the event.
“Our vision is to refresh Africa every day and make the continent a better place for all, is what motivated us to support this noble cause. We know that supporting the traffic officers to effectively conduct their duty triggers a ripple effect by easing movement and ensuring safety for road users and attending pilgrims,” said Kirunda Magoola, the Public Affairs Communication and Sustainability Director of CCBU. According to SSP Rogers Nsereko Kauma, the Kampala Metropolitan Traffic Police Commander, the donation aided the dedicated officers to carry out their job effectively.
“Such support makes our teams work better by keeping us cool and hydrated in the heat. We appreciate Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda for reaching out to support Uganda Police run its operations effectively,” SSP Kauma said.
