KAMPALA – Multi award winning artist Edrisah Musuuza better known by his stage name Eddy Kenzo survived a nasty accident on Thursday morning in Maya along Kampala-Masaka highway.

Sources informed us that the BET Award winner who doubles as Uganda’s Tourism Ambassador was heading to Kyotera, with two other colleagues at the time of the accident.

Kenzo who was in company of other two other in the car survived with injuries and the trio was rushed to the nearby hospital at Omega medical Centre in Nakirebe Mpigi District.

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy PRO for Kampala Metropolitan area confirmed the accident and said Police at Nsangi are investigating a serious accident that happened today( 05/08/2021) at around 8:30am along Masaka Highway at Maya Trading Centre.

According to Owoyesigyire, it is alleged that vehicle UBH 367X while heading to Masaka overturned around Stabex petrol station leaving the occupants injured.

“The wrecked Motor vehicle has been towed and is currently parked at Nsangi Police as investigations go on to ascertain the cause of the accident, it should be noted that the Police has only identified one occupant Edilisa Musuza and his other colleagues are yet to be identified,” he noted.

The Akaserengeto singer confirmed the accident in a Facebook post, attributing it to the poor road. In the post, the artiste said that the car overturned and fell into a trench.

“We had a frightening car accident. The road was wet and slippery due to rain and when we reached Maya theirs was a bump in the road next to Stabex Petro station that caused my car to skid in a remarkable fashion,” Kenzo shared.

According to Kenzo, the car did a 180-degree spin in the middle of the road, facing the wrong way which later made it land into a trench next to the Petro station.

“This happened today morning and all the three people in the car survived. We thank the good Lord for his protection,” the post read.
