KAMPALA – As UNEB releases the 2020 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results on Friday July 30, 2021, police have issued warning to all schools “against violating the pandemic rules by holding school celebrations.”

Through this, police say students can easily get exposed to the deadly virus during such risky settings.

“Therefore, all Headteachers are advised to either postpone the school celebrations to some future time when schools are reopened or hold a virtual celebration,” said police on their social media platforms on Friday morning.

“Remember there are harsh consequences in form of fines, penalties and punishments for COVID-19 offenders.”

The results will be officially released by the Minister for Education and Sports, Janet K. Museveni at a scientific release at State House, Nakasero involving a few invited guests, according to Education Ministry.

Ms. Jennifer Kalule Musamba, UNEB, spokesperson said the release exercise will be conducted in observance of the COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) at noon.

How candidates, schools will access 2020 UCE results

Ms. Musumba advised that schools will access the results through the UNEB portal, the same they used during candidate the registration arrangement.

“Heads of UCE Examination Centers will download the results from their portals as soon as they are released. No hard copy result slips will be issued from UNEB offices untill conditions are more favourable,” she said.

Candidates, parents and other interested parties may use the Short Message Services (SMS) on mobile telecom networks which will post the results of candidates on their mobile sets instantly.

“Candidates, their parents and any other person wishing to access results may do so through their mobile Phones. Simply go to the Message Menu & type UCE, leave space, type the correct index No.of the candidate e.g. U0000/001 send to 6600 on the MTN & Airtel networks, ” she explained.
