KAMPALA — The Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Oulanyah is set to grace the National Development Symposium organized by the Global Peace Foundation in conjunction with the Makerere University Business School.
The event coordinated by the Global Peace Foundation Uganda Peace Ambassador, Milton Kambula is organized under the theme; “One Family under God: Peace and Socio-Economic Development critical for securing Uganda’s future amidst Covid-19 pandemic”.
The national development symposium shall be held virtually on 9th June, 2021 from 10:20am to 12:05pm through Zoom link in respect to the new COVID-19 measures as announced by President Museveni recently. http://bit.ly/nationaldevelopmentsymposium
Kambula said that the objective of the symposium is to launch a joint response and commitment to transform education, economy, as well as strengthen culture of peace, service, moral and innovative leadership for socio- economic development.
“It is time as a country to come together and seek solutions to the pressing issues affecting the education sector, health, economy, service delivery among others,” Kambula sad as he announced the event at his office in Kampala.
He noted that the objective of the symposium is to launch a joint response and commitment to transform education, economy as well as strengthen culture of peace, service, moral and innovative leadership for social-economic development.
The Speaker Oulanyah as an outstanding peace-lover and a nation builder who has sailed through numerous challenges but remained committed to peace and reconciliation, has been invited to attend the symposium as a keynote speaker.
The event shall be graced by outstanding speakers who include; MUBs Principal, Prof. Waswa Balunywa, NSSF Executive Director, Richard Byarugaba, PSFU Executive Director, Gideon Badagawa, Former Minister of Health, Ruth Aceng, Director National Curriculum Development Centre, Grace Baguma, URA Commissioner General, John Musinguzi.
Others speakers include; CEO Agri Exim Uganda, Vinod Varun Bhassin, International Vice President GPF USA, Tony Devine, National Chair Association of Secondary Schools Headteachers of Uganda, Martin Obore Okiria, President Interreligious Council of Uganda, Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, Patron Global Peace Women Uganda, Prof. Maggie Kigozi, CEO Stanbic Bank Uganda, Anne Juuko among others.
The event will as well be used to announce plans to Award distinguished and outstanding individuals in the sectors of education, health, community service, environment, business and peace- building.
