KAMPALA – The just released cabinet list by President Yoweri has left several senior government officials in tears after being dropped.
From the top, Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi who has been the Vice President for ten years has been replaced by former education minister, Jessica Alupo.
Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda has got to look for something else to do after being replaced Robinah Nabbanja.
Dr. Rugunda has been appointed Special Envoy for Special Duties, Office of the President.
Long-serving and powerful Foreign Affairs Minister, Sam Kutesa who had served in the position since 2005 has also been dropped and replaced by Gen Jeje Odongo who has been in Internal Affairs.
The Tuesday list has also seen Minister for Presidency, Esther Mbayo dropped and replaced by Mariam Dhoka Babalanda.
Another strong man dropped is Gen Elly Tumwine who has been replaced by Jim Muhwezi for Minister for Security.
Attorney General William Byaruhanga has also been dropped and replaced by Kiroywa Kiwanuka whereas Mary Goreti Kitutu has been replaced by Ruth Nankabirwa as Energy Minister.
Amelia Anne Kyambadde who recently lost the Mawokota North seat has also not returned after being replaced by Francis Mwebesa as Trade, Industry and Cooperatives Minister.
Adolf Mwesigye, who has been the Minister for Defence and Veteran Affairs has not returned in the position where a substantive replacement is yet to be named.
