COVID-19 CRISIS: Levels Kitchen in drive to vaccinate staff

KAMPALA – With the unfortunate developments on the rampant spread of the second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic, Levels Kitchen is in a drive to vaccinate the staff at the restaurant.

This move is geared towarda ensuring the clients and staff health, safety considering the inevitable interactions and exposure.

They have carried out serious measures in sensitizing the public about the COVID 19 vaccine by bringing it close enough to their community.

Ms Blessing Ahereza, the general manager of Level’s Restaurant says given the nature of their business, they have decided to ensure that all their staff and close stakeholders have their immunization jab for the COVID 19 taken.

She says Levels lounge and restaurant takes the health and safety of all Ugandans with extreme seriousness.

“Together with the health experts/representatives from ministry of health, the jab was brought to our premises opposite the Uganda museum on kira road plot 62 at levels lounge and restaurant.

Our clients who had their national IDs with them were also able to take the opportunity to get them immunized.

After Understanding that unless we protect our health, the health systems will remain overwhelmed and the most vulnerable will continue to lose access to life saving services, risking years of progress and our industry falling further behind,” she shared.

Ms Ahereza added that in collaboration with the government, they saw it important to bring the services closer and quicker to the people and to also eliminate the fear or any possible doubt in the vaccine within the society.

The immunization procedure started on Tuesday 8th, June 2021 up to Thursday 10th, June 2021. A total number of 113 people (80 staff) have vaccinated in two days and 20 have been registered to vaccinate today. Employees clients, and other interested parties have been required to only show a national ID and every thing else is free of charge.

“Levels kitchen with its sumptuous meals, pledges to offer healthy meals from the hands of our expertise head chef, hot steaming healthy beverages, soups, herbal teas, dawa among others. Food is said to be the highest body booster so we have this fully handled,” Ahereza noted.

As advised by health experts, exercise is very important. Levels health spa offers clientelle a fully equipped gym, spotless clean with scented herbs and balms steam, sauna, body treatments i.e. massage and scrubs, health trainer and instructor who are able to also guide you on their dieting journal.

“We will nevertheless continue to take all SOPs in place with utmost seriousness that is to say, washing or sanitizing hands regularly, wearing your masks properly, keeping social distancing, regular temperature checks, and registration on admission among others.”

On Wednesday, the territorial Police at Kampala Metropolitan conducted an operation and a total of 36 revellers have been arrested from Levels Lounge Located in Kamwokya. The suspects include 14 women and 22 men.

Asp Luke Owoyesigyire the Deputy PRO KMP said these were detained at Kiira Road Police station on allegations of doing a negligent act likely to spread an infection of disease and will be arraigned in court for penalties, as they (police) await the fine structure from the Ministry of Finance.

However, Ms Ahereza says this was noted out of hand as these were people who were registering to have their Covid-19 jabs taken.
