KAMPALA – Kampala Archdiocese is mourning the passing of a catholic priest a week after burying their Archbishop, Cyprian Kizito Lwanga.
The archdiocese is mourning Fr. Joseph Tamale, a priest based at SSaza Parish, Masaka Diocese, who died on Thursday, 15 April 2021. The cause of the death has not been formally announced but sources said it is due to kidney failure.
Fr Tamale has been an artiste and composer of many gospel songs under his music organization, Heralds of Good News. The group is composed of talented singers, dancers and actors.
The Catholic Church in Kampala has lost several priests over the last one year. In January, Bishop Emeritus John Baptist Kaggwa died of Covid. In November 2020, the Rev. Father Joseph Lumanyika Nsubuga, the parish priest of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Wakiso, also died after a long illness.
