Kampala to be affected by water shutdown on Friday

National Water and Sewerage Corporetion Ggaba water treatment plant (PHOTO/File)

KAMPALA — National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has announced water supply interruptions in some parts of Kampala on Friday, 26 2021 from 12:00am to 12:00pm.

“This is due to planned UMEME upgrade works at the Ggaba substation,” NWSC said in a statement.

“Customers are therefore advised to store enough water and use it sparingly. All inconveniences are highly regretted.”

“It takes time for the system to build up after a total plant shutdown. Please store enough water”.

The 12-hr shutdown affect areas include:

Jinja road;

Nakawa, Kireka, Kyambogo Banda, Kyaliwajjala, Namugongo, Kira, Bweyogerere, Seeta, Mukono and the surrounding areas.

Bombo road;

Bwaise, Kawempe, Maganjo, Makerere, Kagoma, Kawanda and Matugga

Kampala Central business district

Kololo, Kibuli, Muyenga, Namirembe, Nakulabye, Mengo, Nile avenue, Nakasero and the surrounding areas.
