Museveni woos medical equipment investor to Uganda

ENTEBBE — President Yoweri Museveni has received the Head and CEO of General Electric Health Care Company Ms. Catherine Estrampes who called on him at State House, Entebbe.

General Electric Healthcare is renown for supplying medical equipment in Africa, Europe and the Middle-East and is now willing to extend its services to Uganda.

The equipment supplied include Ultra sound x-rays, mobile general x-rays that can be used in the rural areas as well as x-rays for chest scanning in COVID-19 patients.

Mr. Museveni warmly welcomed Ms. Estrampes to Uganda and assured her of governments cooperation in the acquisition of the medical equipment that will be used in hospital facilities in Uganda.

The President also asked his guest to take interest in wooing more investors to Uganda especially those who deal in Agricultural processing.

Ms. Estrampes who is based in France and was accompanied by the General Manager and Director Sub-Saharan Africa based in Nairobi Kenya Mr. Eyong Ebai, was very delighted to be in Uganda and East Africa for the first time and said their services mainly handle hospital projects and the transmission of health care systems.

“I hope we shall take root in Uganda, she said.

The delegation also pledged to woo more investors to Uganda.

“Your excellency we are willing to be your partners and good ambassadors for you in attracting investors to Uganda”, she added.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Finance Matia Kasaijja.

Others included the Attorney General William Byaruhanga, the Minister of State for Health Joyce Moriku Kaducu and other senior government officials.
