Garbage collection remains problem at Kasenyi fish landing site

KASENYI – Residents of Kasenyi landing site are scared of diseases that may break out in their area due to garbage that has not been collected for quite long.

Mugoma Abubakari, a resident of Kasenyi says they pay money for garbage collection but their leaders take long to get them off.

“Heaps of garbage has filled up the area to the extent of covering our houses which puts out lives at risk,” says Mugoma

According to the anonymous source, they have written seven letters to the top management officials but nothing has been done.

Ramadhan Kigozi, a leader of fishermen and business operators at the landing site says several complaints have been raised but they keep on giving empty promises.

Hajji Mbabali, the manager Kasenyi landing site said that the management is trying so hard to clean up the area.

“We are trying so had to remove this garbage t issue because we also know that it’s not good. So we assure our residents that Kasenyi is going to be clean again,” he said.

Kasenyi is one of the fish Landing sites that export fish abroad.
