KAMPALA – On Saturday, December 12, 2020, Police in Kyazanga arrested Justin Juuko and Garlypo Mayanja while they were on official FDC assigned duties of identifying and training Polling Agents in Kyazanga, sources have said.

According to Ronald Muhinda, who happens to be personal aide to former FDC President, Dr Kizza Besigye said that their colleagues were briefly held at Kyazanga Police Post, later transfered to Mbirizi Police Station from “where they were handed to the military (CMI) that have kept moving them from one place to another.”

FDC allergies that Mayanja, a volunteer party activist in Lwengo, has been on Police and Military surveillance after Besigye visited his home in April 2018 in Mbirizi to appreciate his unwavering commitment to the liberation struggle.

“From Mbirizi, they were taken to Masaka, later Buwama and finally brought to Kampala where they are reportedly held at different sites incommunicado,” Muhinda said on his social media platforms.

He added that Juuko and Mayanja haven’t received any welfare, legal and medical attention from “Kireka and Makindye Military barracks where they are.”

Juuko volunteered to help FDC while on Christmas holiday in Uganda from US.

“Juuko and Mayanja must be freed because identifying Polling Agents isn’t a crime.”
