KAMPALA – The Nigerian trio of Stanley Omah Didia alias Omah Lay, Temilade Openyi alias Tems and Muyiwa Awomiyi have been charged to court in Makindye on charges of negligently doing acts likely to spread an infectious diseases C/S 171 of the Penal Code Act.
The earlier plans of releasing them on police bond, were suspended after their casefile was sanctioned by the Office of the DPP.
They were jointly charged with four other Ugandans and all remanded till Wednesday 16, 2020.
Omah and eight others were on Sunday arrested in connection to the unauthorised concert that was held on Saturday night at Ddungu Resort, Munyonyo, Kampala Capital City.
Others include police officers L/AIP Fabiano Juma, No.51328 PC John Bosco Ocaba and No.67898 PC Paul Odongo.
According to police, the artistes connived with area police officers, who guarded the illegal event.
It should be known that after the outbreak of Coronavirus in the country, President Yoweri Museveni issued guidelines suspending concerts attended by revellers in order to stop the spread of the deadly virus.
