KAMPALA – Presidential candidate Gen Henry Tumukunde has warned security forces against continued harassing of his supporters during campaigns.
Speaking from his home district of Rukungiri on Tuesday, 10 November 2020, where police fired teargas at his supporters, the former Security minister said the security forces will regret these actions.
“My supporters are already admitted to Nyakibale hospital, I am going to Kanungu and come back to see them, but whoever was involved in beating up my people here at home will regret it several times,” he said.
Tumukunde added that he had a bigger group of people from Buyanja and Kebisoni who Police sprayed tear gas and beat seriously.
Tumukunde promised three major things for Rukungiri once he is elected president.
“When I was a minister, I told you I will work on Rukungiri University and district hospital, which I will work on in the first year as president. I’m also going to tarmac all roads in the town,” he said.
Tumukunde apologized to those he could have wronged when he was still serving in government, especially those in the Opposition party of FDC.
“I want to work with those who started opposition 20 years ago and those who joined yesterday for the good of our country,” he said.
