KAMPALA — Makindye Division deputy Resident City Commissioner (RCC), Ibrahim Kagolola has died of Covid-19.

Kagolola died on Saturday afternoon at Mulago National Referral Hospital.

Kampala RCC Faridah Mayanja Mpiima confirmed that Kagolola died of COVID-19 and the hospital management had informed the family and released to them the results confirming the cause of death.

Kampala Central deputy RCC Hawa Namugenyi said Kagolola first tested positive for Covid-19 but did not have symptoms and opted to stay home and recover.

On the third day, according to Namugenyi, he developed complications including difficulty in breathing.

“He called and confirmed to me that his results were positive and wanted to remain home but on the third day his condition worsened,” she said, adding that it was at this time that he was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit at Mulago.

Kagolola is survived with a wife and children. According to the burial program, there will be prayers both at Kiwuliriza Church and at his home near Wakiso district headquarters but without the body. He will be buried at Nakiruli in Kiboga district, off Kitumba along Hoima Road.
