KAMPALA – Over 200 babies at Mulago Children’s Ward have on Thursday benefited from a donation made by Ms Naiya Ruparelia one of the trustees of Ruparelia Foundation.

Ms Naiya made the donation that had the care takers and parents of the children excited and humbled by her gesture in these hard times of the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to her, this gesture of giving the package is part of their core principles of Ruparelia Foundation of reaching out to the needy in such circumstances to bring smiles to the faces of the children who are going through tough time with their health.

“They are very strong children, it’s amazing and some are really strongly fighting for their lives. We admire their strength and hope that they get well soon. We will do this quarterly but we hope to eventually have it become a monthly activity with sponsorships from more people” Naiya says.

Interacting with the parents who were with the children, Naiya identified the needs the children were having and promised to keep doing such charity to keep the little ones provided for.
For the past eight Years, Ruparelia Foundation has continued to work together with several people championing positive change in different communities across Uganda.

With a desire to achieve their goal of having improved livelihoods in society, the Foundation works to improve a solution directly or with strategic partners from the business, government and non-profit sector.

While hosting more than 600 underprivileged children to a Christmas party at Kampala Parents School last year, Naiya said their initiatives are is aimed at ensuring that underprivileged children are recognized and given love.

She said the foundation had plans of holding a number of Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) activities this year.
