Uganda registers 176 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday

KAMPALA – The Ministry of Health has confirmed 176 new COVID cases from tests done on September 2,2020.

This rises the total confirmed cases of Ugandans to 3,288.

According to MOH, 172 were alerts and contacts with 70 from Kampala, 39 from Kikuube, 17 from Buikwe, 10 from Mbale, 9 from Moroto, 5 from Mukono, 2 from Hoima, 2 from Toronto, 1 from Buvuma, 1 from Kyenjojo, 1 from Mbarara, 1 from Namisindwa and 1 from Malaba.

Two cases were registered from different border points of Busia and Malabar.

Additionally 2 health workers from Jinja and Kampala with one case each were infected with COVID-19.

The ministry further revealed that two Kenyan truck drivers tested positive for coronavirus and their entry into the country was restricted.

One new coronavirus death has been reported on September 3.

“A Ugandan male aged 40 years a resident of Wakiso district,” reads an excerpt.

This brings the death toll to 33.

1,532 people have recovered from coronavirus.
