KAMPALA – In an effort to curb the spread of the noble coronavirus at the institution, Makerere University has combined finalists resident students living in different halls.

According to a September 29 letter by the Dean of Students, Mr. Cyrico Kabagambe, students attached to Mitchell and University hall will stay in University hall.

“Those at Livingstone and Nkurumah halls will stay in Nkurumah hall,” he said.

Students of Lumumba and Nsibirwa halls, Kabagambe says will stay in Nsibirwa hall.

“Students of MaryStuart and Africa halls will stay in their respective halls while those of CCE will be distributed to Mary Stuart and Africa halls,” reads an excerpt.

Additionally, residents of Galloway house will remain in Galloway house.

“The Postgraduate students in DagMugenyi flats will also remain in their hall,” reads the statement in part.

However, Kabagambe noted that all non residents will be required to go back to their places of accomodation.

He further said SOPs to prevent the spread of the virus must be put in place at every hall of Residence and students are required to follow them.
