KAMPALA – President Yoweri Museveni has maintained the closure of bars gyms, cinemas, and gaming areas.

“I know many Ugandans like getting drunk, but you can get drunk at home. It is not good but at least you can get drunk without COVID-19,” he announced.

In the same address, the President indicated that the government will allow all candidates to return to school on October 15,2020.

“The cost of waiting is too much,” the President said, adding that with only 2 million students returning to school, there will be a good chance of practicing social distancing in the school communities.

“The schools will now open in a limited way,” the president said

The President also announced that places of worship will be allowed to open, especially for confessions and counselling.

The President also announced that sports activities will be allowed to resume “provided there are no spectators at the stadia”.
