KAMPALA – NRM has announced July 24th, 2020, as the date for party primaries to elect flag bearers for Special Interest Group Committees at the village level. The committees are youth, women and elderly.
The NRM electoral commission chairman, Dr Tanga Odoi, said the NRM District Elections Officers (DE0s) /Registrars shall be in charge of these elections assisted by; Assistant District Elections Officers/Registrars, NRM Administrative Secretaries, NRM Sub-county Election Officers/Registrars, NRM Parish Election Officers/Registrars and NRM Village Election Officers/Registrars.
“The District NRM Chairperson together with the District Executive Committee (DEC) shall play an oversight role during these elections. The NRM Electoral Commission humbly requests that Resident District Commissioners (RDCS, District Police Commanders (DPCs) and District. Internal Security Officers (DIS0s) assist on Issues related to security during and after the elections,” he said in a statement.
He added that other than the NRM Registrars as specified in I) above, the rest of the personnel should not get involved directly in the electoral management process.
“By way of this announcement, all Special Interest Group committee (SIG) Candidates, District Party Leadership, Security and the entire NRM Fraternity in the country are accordingly Informed that this election will be on held on Friday 24th July, 2020,” he added.
