Police net 32 football diehards for breaking Covid-19 curfew orders to watch Arsenal Vs Liverpool

KAMPALA – Police on Wednesday night arrested 32 suspects for violating Presidential directives, Ministry of Health guidelines of social distancing and curfew.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango revealed that the suspects were arrested while watching Premier league match i.e Arsenal vs Liverpool at Katanga in Wandegeya, Kampala.

“They have been charged with disobedience of lawful orders and doing acts likely to spread infectious disease which is corona virus,” he said in a statement dated July 16.

He added that they are detained at Wandegeya Police Station.

As of July 14, the Ministry of health has confirmed 1043 cases of COVID-19 while 1004 recoveries have been confirmed.

There has no been COVID-19 death reported so far
