
KAMPALA — Ambassador Necva Abbas Kadeh ed-Dem, the undersecretary to President Yoweri Museveni died from the novel coronavirus in Sudan.
Sudan News Agency (SUNA) reports that Dem succumbed to the virus at a hospital in the capital Khartoum.
In his speech on Heroes Day, President Museveni praised later Abbas for her work.
“To my comrades in the struggle, both living and departed (including Maj. Gen. Kasirye Gwanga who passed on this morning and Najwa Abbas who passed on recently in Sudan), the struggle continues and victory is certain,” he Tweeted.
Necva Abbas Kadeh ed-Dem in February 2020 brokered a meeting between President Museveni and Sudan new leader Gen. Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan.
She had also fixed the meeting between Museveni and Israel PM Netanyahu.
A total of 6,427 cases have been reported Sudan so far, while the number of those who have died from the virus has surpassed 389.
A total of 2,127 people have recovered.
