“The fight against COVID-19 is a fulfillment of the manifesto promises; i.e. to protect the lives of people and their property,” he said.

He highlighted a number of areas where government has successfully implemented the manifesto commitments and still on a steady track to hit 100% implementation progress.

The areas highlighted include; electricity generation; citing construction of the Karuma and Isimba Dams, reviving the Uganda Airlines, completion and commissioning of the Women’s Hospital at Mulago, rehabilitation of Mulago Hospital; currently at 90% completion, Industrialization progress, road construction and the fight against corruption, among others.

Rugunda further emphasized that maintaining peace and security has remained the core ingredient upon which all other social and economic developments are hinged.

“In the course of the next two weeks, different sector Ministers and technical officers will be informing Ugandans about what is happening in their dockets in line with the Manifesto, ” Rugunda promised the public.

The PM was flanked by the Minister for Presidency, Esther Mbayo, the Minister for Information and National Guidance, Ms. Judith Nabakooba, the Minister for General Duties, Ms. Mary Karooro Okrut, and the Director of the Manifesto Implementation Unit, Mr. Willis Bashaasha, together with other government dignitaries.
