BUSHENYI – Authorities in Kyabugimbi Sub County, Bushenyi District, have accused UPDF soldiers of shooting dead a resident during curfew.

Speaking to this website, a resident said that UPDF soldiers shot dead Vincent Tumuhimbise on Friday night  in Nyakiborera village in yet unclear circumstances.

He said that the UPDF soldiers have been guarding the stone quarry belonging to Mota Engil, a road construction company, in Kyeigombe village.

According to residents, the soldiers are not deployed to enforce the curfew on Covid-19 but have also been staging their own road blocks and demanding money from people.

“We believe that these are the circumstances where the resident was shot dead,” he said.
